Role description and responsibilities:

Filtermist is a Telford based company that supports our customers by provide them and their employees with clean air solutions, which is at the heart of our brand. We are looking for someone to join our growing Sales team and help sell LEV solutions to our customers so that their equipment and systems are always running efficiently and providing them the best protection. This is a remote position, with several days per week spent visiting customers' sites and the remaining days spent either at Telford headquarters or working from home (if desired). The role will encompass the following responsibilities.

  • Dealing with new and existing customers, receiving, and evaluating inquiries, organising, and attending site visits.
  • Handover of detailed site and design information to the contracts team who can produce the quotation costings.
  • Generating and issue quotations to customers.
  • Engaging with customers to convert quotations into sales.
  • Generate new leads through proactive selling strategies to increase sales and identify future sales opportunities.
  • Ensure that all appropriate data is collected and inputted into our CRM system.
  • Respond to all technical support requests and, where necessary, give technical assistance to customers.
  • Handover of detailed project order information to the contracts team and support through the project lifecycle to ensure it meets customers’ expectations.
  • Provide regular reports and updates of ongoing customer business development.
  • Support the aftermarket division by directing servicing, testing, spares, and repair requests to them.
  • Management of key accounts and the administration responsibilities.
  • To help constantly improve Filtermist’s customer service, quoting, order processing and conversion rates.
  • The above list is not exhaustive and may be varied or added to as the sales department is a rapidly growing area of the business. There is huge potential of departmental growth, individual growth, and development.


Not everyone can be a Technical Sales Manager, so to be seriously considered for this role, please have the following:


Experience: At least 3 years in a similar sales, proposals and customer service role with comparable goals and responsibilities. Excellent new business sales with experience of analysing, interpreting, and working towards targets. Have a thorough understanding of LEV extraction systems.


Education: Have a good level of education (to GCSE standard in Maths and English grade C or above). Have P Course qualifications to demonstrate you have an expert knowledge in LEV systems and LEV design. Above this you need to be experienced with Microsoft Office Programs. Full clean driving licence.


Skills: You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate to our customers in a confident & assertive manner at all levels. To be efficient, effective, and highly organised with the ability to plan and manage your own time where prioritisation is key. You need to be an individual who has excellent sales ability and understands how to frame a clear, concise, and compelling sales pitch. Then manage the sales process through with a strong administration ability.


Characteristics: This is an autonomous position, so you should be self-sufficient and self-motivated. We require the individual to have a positive attitude, with a high attention to detail and a strong ability to work under pressure. It’s also a developing role, so you must be able to accept and act on feedback about your work.
