Job Summary

An apprentice trained maintenance engineer with experience of working in a medium to heavy engineering environment. The position will involve carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance duties on a variety of machinery and equipment. Continual improvement and the use of RCA to improve the equipment OEE will be an essential pre-requisite for this position. Willingness to work overtime and differing shifts pattern is also required.

 

Key Objectives of the Role:

·       Ensure all PPM tasks are completed on time and to the required standards.

·       Use RCA to identify true cause of failures and report corrective action necessary.

·       Improve plant OEE by ensuring issues are dealt with in a swift and effective manner with an effective first-time fix.

·       Ensure all departmental documentation is completed on time and to company standards.

·       Develop the PPM system for key items of plant in conjunction with the maintenance planner to improve plant OEE.

·       Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on a variety of equipment.

·       Rapid response to customers’ demands with a quick diagnosis of the issue and an effective fix.

·       Develop and recommend solutions to improve equipment availability to Maintenance Manager.

·       Ensure all work undertaken is done via the company safety rules and procedures

including the undertaking of risk assessments, method statements, safe systems of work, and safe lock off procedures.

·      Be aware of incident reports and work with operational managers to promptly implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.

·      To co-operate readily on the development and implementation of autonomous maintenance (TPM).

·      To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be requested.

 

The Applicant:

·       Apprentice trained (mandatory).

·       Able to read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic engineering drawings.

·       Ability to logically fault find.

·       Worked with lock out, tag out procedures

·       Working with a CMMS.

·       High level of understanding of pneumatics & hydraulics.

·       Worked with CNC machines, Lathes, NDT processes or forge industry.

·       Basic fabrication experience.

·       Good problem-solving and organisation skills.

·       Worked in a medium to heaving factory environment.

·       Experience of dealing with demanding customers.

 

Desirable:

·      CNC Fault finding and repairs.

·      Forging industry experience.

·      Familiar with Microsoft Office to intermediate level or above.

·      Appreciation of PLCs.

·      Familiar with Burning/welding.

·      Familiar with Shot-blast machines.

·      Overhead Crane Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      Abrasive Wheel Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      Mobile Tower Scaffold Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      First Aid Training (Max 3 Years).

·      Fire Warden Training (Max. 5 Years)

·      Mobile Elevated Working Platform Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      Working in Confined Spaces Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      Confined Space Rescue Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      Working at Height Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      Work at Height Rescue Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      FLT Training (Max. 5 Years).

·      IOSH Managing Safely.
