McGeoch Technology Ltd. Have an exciting opportunity for an additional skilled Mechanical Quality Engineer reporting directly to the Quality Manager. The role will be based at our assembly and test facility here in Birmingham UK where we design, manufacture, and repair a range of products and services for defence and industrial markets including ATEX Lighting, Electrical Distribution, Instrumentation and Control solutions.

THE ROLE

Monitor compliance and where outputs do not achieve the input requirements, support Operations and Engineering teams to create positive change, and ensure customer and business goals are met.

RESPONSIBILITY / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborative working across all teams including internal and external stake holders
  • Correct Interpretation of Drawings, Schematics, Technical Specifications, Quality Plans
  • Quality Compliance Monitoring, Training & Development
  • Route Cause Corrective Action (RCCA/8D/ECNs)
  • Effective concerns closure to prevent recurrence
  • Provision of Exceptional Customer Service
  • Dock Audit & Release Certification Signatory
  • Measurement Systems Analysis, Calibration and Control
  • Support Quality Deliverables on-Time-in-Full
  • Quality & Delivery Performance Improvement
  • Contract Review (Quality Aspects)
  • Management of the Calibration system
  • Provision of Monthly KPI to Compliance Management
  • Anything else in accordance with business requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Time-Served Mechanical Engineering Inspector
  • City & Guilds Level 3 Engineering or similar
  • 3 years CMM Programming experience in the last 5 years
  • Drawing interpretation GDT to BS8888
  • Structured Problem Solving: 8D, Shainin or Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
  • PFMEA, FAI, PPAP, Process Mapping, Lean, Process Improvement
  • Machining, Fabrication, Welding, Painting process experience
  • ISO9001:2015/ Certified Internal Auditor
  • Calibration system management
  • Exceptional customer facing / customer service experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering 2.1
  • Member of Chartered Quality Institute
  • AS9100 Certified Internal Auditor

Friday – 07:30 -12:30

HOLIDAY
