Description

Purpose of the Sales Applications Engineer Role:

Upfront the sales activities for Lean Manufacturing Division, and aid in compiling technical quotation to clients. Lead sales activities in finding new project enquiries from existing client base and potential new clients.

Sales Applications Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Lead all sales activities for Lean Division.
  • Field based sales nationwide.
  • Business to business sales, developing relationships, managing accounts.
  • Develop appropriate internal and external sales channels, relating to products and territories.
  • Visit customers and presenting the complete company product range and attend business opportunity meetings when required
  • Represent the company at all times and attend exhibitions where possible to increase sales activity and gather market intelligence
  • Analyse and feedback market, product or competitor intelligence
  • Participate in regular sales reviews, weekly engineering reviews and liaise with the Marketing department as required
  • Compiling Contract Files, checking customer data and specifications with the project team.
  • Compiling contract files to requires deadlines and quality standards.
  • Dealing with contract variations.
  • Compiling of sales visits / enquiry reports.
  • Compiling enquiries risk assessments prior to tender submission.
  • Report progress, manage risks and respond to issues.
  • Build & develop strong client relationships.

Sales Applications Engineer Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a sales application engineer.
  • Able to identify and convert new business opportunities when visiting customers or exhibitions
  • Commercial knowledge and awareness.
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Work experience in automotive (must), warehouse automation, food and beverage & packaging industries an advantage.
  • Preferred work experience within Automotive First Tier Suppliers.
  • Must have experience in either machine builds (automation) or jig and fixtures sales / manufacturing.
  • Great knowledge of automation systems.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite.           
  • 5x GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade A or above
  • Degree Level in Sales / Engineering          
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly able to write in an engaging manner to suit a variety of audiences
