Description

Rutland Plastics is seeking a Technical Project Coordinator to support the Design & Project Engineering department with the New Product Introduction process and day-to-day running of the department.

The successful candidate will be a natural communicator, with exceptional organisational skills.

Reporting to the Technical Manager the key responsibilities for this role are:

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the Design and Project Engineering department.
  • Assisting the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from order to completion. 
  • Keeping track of project progress and updating timing plans.
  • Ensure that the company’s project management processes are implemented on all projects.
  • Maintaining liaison between project stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
  • Create and update standardised documents and processes.
  • General administrative duties.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date work schedule.
  • Support the quoting process of new products and mould tools.

The essential skills required for this role are:

  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Positive outgoing personality, able to motivate others.
  • Data management, including the use of ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Computer skills for writing reports, reporting progress and communicating by email.
  • Proven team player.
  • A strong customer focus, and the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and external suppliers.

Desirable Criteria

  • Technical background.
  • An interest in engineering or new product introduction.
  • Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • A basic understanding of the injection moulding process.
  • Experience using CAD software.
  • Project management experience.
