Description

Our Warehouse Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient inbound, pick and outbound operations of the business. Direct Air are currently looking for a keen, enthusiastic individual who will take pride in this role and manage operations at our Coventry headquarters, covering two units. Working within our stores you will need to be able to take on a hands-on approach yet be able to work effectively with our stores computer system.

This role includes day to day management of the warehousing function, ensuring that inventory is accurate and accessible across 3 sites. You will manage a team of 4 people.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working proactively alongside the Purchasing, Service & Installations departments
  • Creating and implementing a continuous improvement strategy for our warehouse(s)
  • Working proactively to ensure both warehouses are legally compliant, adhering to Health and Safety and quality standards, and always audit ready
  • Maintain inventory/stock control in line with business requirements
  • Accepting & Processing deliveries from suppliers, unpacking, checking, and sorting for stock/job allocation
  • Preparation of service parts for engineer’s jobs
  • Forklift operation – training may be given where needed
  • Progressing deliveries from suppliers
  • Planning and successfully delivering products to customers on the requested date and in the agreed quantities
  • Waste Oil Management
  • Effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing the Warehouse team and leading people management related tasks with the support of HR
  • Keeping the stores generally organised & tidy

What we need from you

  • Team leader/managerial experience (desirable)
  • Forklift license (desirable)
  • Experience with bespoke databases/warehouse management systems (desirable)
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Helpful and supportive communication and collaborative approach to work
  • Manual handling capabilities to assist with incoming loads

21 – 24 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays per year
