We’re looking for an Automation/Control Systems Service Engineer to join Transicon, a leading control system manufacturer based in Telford.

We're looking for a skilled service engineer to join our talented 24/7 dedicated service team, supporting UK manufacturers, undertaking a wide variety of automation service works, working alongside some fantastic engineers.

As a Automation/Control System Engineer, you'll work within our established engineering service team, responsible for maintaining, servicing and removing obsolescence for a wide variety of variable speed drive, servo drive, PLC and SCADA system projects controlling a diverse range of industrial applications.

The right candidate will be a passionate engineer, keen to tackle a wide variety of engineering projects for our exciting customer base.

Pay, Hours & Benefits available:

  • Starting rate of £35-45k per annum, dependent on qualifications and relevant experience

Job Description:

Working within a team, the right candidate will be responsible for:

  • Provision of 24/7 callout service to customers on a rota basis
  • Provision of scheduled maintenance and other service activities to customers
  • Software and hardware engineering
  • Software programming (PLCs, SCADA/HMIs, variable speed drives, communications
  • networks)
  • Project design lifecycle assistance – FDS, design, test, FAT, commissioning, SAT Site installation and commissioning
  • Site survey/health checks of automated systems
  • Site management
  • Assistance with the preparation of estimates/quotations/tenders in conjunction with the
  • tendering team

Requirements:

Let us know if you can meet most of these requirements:

  • HNC, C&G III or similar qualification in an electrical, maintenance or mechatronic engineering field.
  • The ability to complete work independently within allocated time scales.
  • Teamwork and strong communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel.
  • Commercial awareness to ensure the profitability of projects is maintained.
  • Knowledge of some major manufacturers variable speed drive, servo drive, PLC and SCADA systems and associated software tools, such as Bosch, ABB, Siemens, Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Danfoss, Control Techniques (Nidec), GE, Mitsubishi, Omron etc.
