Commissioning Engineer

1. Summary of Role

• Working on complete Electrical Control Systems you will provide prompt, thorough support to customers both on-site and remotely for a range of equipment including PLC, AC/DC drives, general control gear and SCADA
• You will be reporting directly to the Service Manager

2. Job Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and breakdown repairs of equipment as necessary.
• Support installation, commissioning activities, field troubleshooting and upgrade work
• Provide technical support to customers on-site and remotely
• Participate as a member of an on-call rota for out of hours support
• Provide a high-quality service to customers, whilst delivering support in line with the Company’s philosophy
• Maintain the Company’s reputation as a leading-edge systems integrator
• Comply with all relevant standards and work to the Company’s ISO9001:2008 registered quality procedures
• Be pro-active in supporting other company activities such as supporting fellow engineers, training, and assisting with sales and site support
• To maintain good relationships with customers, suppliers and company staff

3. Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• HNC/HND in relevant discipline
• Previous experience in control systems and / or industrial drives
• Highly computer literate
• Ability to work either individually or as part of a team
• Knowledge and experience of some of the following is a requirement:

PLC:

• Siemens S7 / TIA
• Rockwell ControlLogix

Variable speed drives:

• AC, DC and Servo
• Siemens
• ABB
• Rockwell
• CT
• SSD

SCADA:

• Siemens WinCC
• Siemens TIA
• Rockwell RSView
• IFix
• InTouch (Wonderware)

Fieldbus:

• Ethernet
• Profibus, ProfiNet
• Modbus
