Description

  • Are you craving a varied engineering / project-based role that will allow you to travel the country?
  • Do you enjoy managing large-scale installation projects and working hands-on with a team?
  • Are you a passionate individual who is proud of your work?
  • Would you prefer to work closely with a team in a family business rather than be part of a large organisation where no one knows who you are?

If you answer yes to the above Ductec might be perfect for you!

Ductec is a family-run Yorkshire business that designs, supplies, installs, and services dust and fume extraction systems for clients in the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Extremely proud of its team and its reputation for delivering a quality service, Ductec has become a recognised service provider to clients in woodwaste, metal cutting, food production, textiles, and more.

If you’ve previously worked as a projects/contract engineer in the Dust and Fume Extraction Industry and are looking to move into a role with more of a lead/management element, this could be the perfect next step for you!

No two days in this role would be the same – all of our systems are bespoke, and we do have a full Job Description, but for now, this is what a typical week might look like:

  1. A day at the Heckmondwike office involves managing contracts from start to finish and liaising with customers, suppliers, and installation teams to achieve quality installations on time and to budget. You’ll manage 6-8 ongoing projects at any one time. You may design on CAD, finalise the project contract, and complete RAMS.
  2. Spend a few days travelling to a site, liaising with the client to ensure installations run smoothly. This could be in various industries, from woodwaste to laser cutting, welding to waste management, food processing to textiles.
  3. Liaising with the client and the install team prior to the project start, completing the relevant project administration, whether that be ordering materials and parts, finalising drawings, or picking up other elements on your other projects.

The perfect candidate would already have project management/coordination experience in the dust and fume extraction industry; however, this could be a tall ask. Therefore, if you are reading this knowing that you’ve got the transferrable skills in a relatable industry and are used to being on-site, please do apply.

You should note that candidates with previous AutoCAD and IT experience producing installation drawings, RAMS, and any other formal reports to ensure legal compliance for health and safety will be a close fit for what we’re looking for.

As an engineer, whether qualified through a degree or qualified through experience, i.e., time served, one of the key attributes that we’re looking for is someone who can use their own experiences and knowledge to make jobs run smoothly, is not scared of thinking outside the box, and takes the lead.

If this sounds interesting and something you would like to find out more about, then please apply!

Our first stage is a 15-minute Teams call to have a quick chat about the role. This offers you the chance to really learn about the role and vice versa. As it’s such a unique role to fill, we know we’re likely going to be looking for someone with transferrable skills in a relatable industry.
