We are looking to recruit a Draughtsperson / CAD Technician to join the business on a permanent basis!
The ideal candidate should be proficient in using Autodesk Inventor or similar design software as a minimum, a good general mechanical / manufacturing engineering understanding, with experience of feed mill/process equipment being advantageous. However, inhouse training will be provided for potential candidates with 3d design experience that are looking to progress their knowledge and develop a career in process engineering.
Typical duties would include:
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to create detailed drawings and designs for feed mill equipment using Autodesk Inventor.
- Develop 2D and 3D CAD models, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Produce fabrication drawings, assembly instructions, and bills of materials.
- Utilise Autodesk Vault for efficient 3D CAD file management.
- Design for manufacturability, considering material selection, tolerances, and production processes.
- Producing machine manuals specific to the individual machines.
- Work to the relevant industry design standards.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or similar drafting software.
- Ability to design for manufacture and produce fabrication drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Visits to various customers sites will be undertaken with a project manager, to develop the candidate’s knowledge and understanding of process machinery principles and the materials handling industry.

Salary negotiable depending on experience between £22,000 and £35,000 per year.
