As the Project Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will lead and support the development, definition and delivery of specific new growth ventures and services. Supporting the formulation, execution and optimisation of specific concepts, capital investment and strategies to help deliver Koura’s Growth Portfolio. This Project Engineering Manager role based at Thornton Science Park in Cheshire is a 12 Month contract (with possibility for extension) will execute programmes complying to PMO processes, standards, templates and guidelines. Applying world-class tools of conceptual manufacturing, option development, process safety, capital efficiency, cost and schedule organization to meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the Project Engineering Manager:

  • Lead and control definition phases that meets the business executives’ expectation for addressing a problem/opportunity that could entail a significant capital investment.
  • Drive the assigned activities at pace through the early definition stages (FEL-2 & 3) with effective handover to construction.
  • Build a team of internal and external resources that delivers safe, effective and capital efficient design and procurement throughout
  • Deliver regular communication to functional and business stakeholders with content tailored to the audiences’ technical skill and interest in detail
  • Ensure that contract construction / technology vendors employ world class safety methods while meeting the cost and schedule commitments
  • Implement world-class cost, schedule and forecasting tools to ensure phases delivered on-time and within budget

To be successful in this position as Project Engineering Manager it is essential to have qualifications and background in chemicals or petrochemicals industry in a Project Engineering Manager, manufacturing or operational role. You will ideally have a minimum 5 years direct engagement in business FEED / Feasibility study in the chemical industry alongside at least 3 years in a senior operations role in the chemical industry. It would be preferable if the Project Engineering Manager candidate had experience of leading new capital or debottlenecking schemes >$10m.
