  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • Weekend availability

Experience:

  • Electrical Engineering: 5 years (preferred)

Job Purpose

Ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of drives and controls equipment through fault diagnostics, refurbishments, and testing.

Provide innovative, forward-thinking suggestions to ensure that FML remains a leader in the repair industry.

Contribute to workshop operations with strong leadership qualities to guide other team members.

Provide onsite support to customers and FML team members.

 

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics and Fault-Finding: Carry out assessments and interpret technical documents.

Repair and Refurbishment: Perform repairs and refurbishments to FML and or manufacturer procedures.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct post-repair tests and verify quality.

Documentation and Reporting: Record diagnostics, work carried out, labour and spares accurately via FML’s business operating system (BOS).

Site Support: Attend site to provide support to other FML engineers, investigate complex failures and or spec up/gather information for retrofits/projects.

Route, cause, analysis reporting: For warranty investigations and failed repairs.

FML Support: Provide technical advice and updates when needed.

Health and Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.

Preventative Maintenance: Support maintenance schedules and suggest improvements.

Leadership: Guide and mentor other engineers in repair procedures and diagnostic skills.

Commercial awareness: Make informed decisions using both technical expertise and commercial awareness.

 

Training and Development:

Assist in evaluating existing employees’ technical skills and assist in creating and implementing training programs.

 

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

- Extensive proven experience in drives and controls equipment diagnostics and repair.

- Strong understanding of electronic systems.

- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and schematics.

- Excellent problem-solving skills.

Desirable

- Technical certification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HND).

Knowledge of OEM standards and PLC programming.
