About the job

As part of the BASF group, Chemetall develops and manufactures tailor-made technology and system solutions for applied surface treatments. The products help protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and treatment, clean, degrease and prepare parts optimally for the painting process and ensure excellent coating adhesion. Chemetall’s globally established product ranges, for example Oxsilan®, Gardobond®, Ardrox® and Naftoseal®, play a leading role in in a variety of industries and end markets including automotive, aerospace, aluminium finishing, metal forming and plastic recycling.

As part of the technical support team you will play a pivotal role within the company working closely with sales, R&D, laboratory services, and customer support across all segments. The role is very varied and will include offering product advice, developing and optimising new processes, supporting customers to implement new technologies, trouble shooting, testing and training. It is a role where the knowledge and experience you build about our products will directly help our customers be more successful, and ultimately grow our business.

ROLE

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for customers and Chemetall staff in line with business management needs.
  • Manage customer product queries and process optimisation.
  • Manage internal and external test programs to help introduce new products, handle technical requests, and optimise production lines.
  • Promote and communicate new technologies.
  • Provide customer training for product use, product safety, processing, and effective line monitoring.
  • Work with product management and global technology centres, to develop and introduce new products and technologies.



Qualifications/Skills

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in a relevant subject (science or engineering) and experience of metals, surface treatment or coating technologies.
  • Practical experience in conducting experiments and problem-solving.
  • Experience of managing customers.
  • Excellent analytical, time management and communication skills are required.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license.
