In a united effort to support the UK job market and champion manufacturing as an "Industry of Choice" for the next generation of workers, over 100 companies are predicted to exhibit at Made in Group's upcoming "Virtual Careers Exhibition".
Made Futures is a one-week careers festival run by the Made in Group, which will take place on March 22nd-26th. Launched in 2009, Made in Group is a private manufacturing network for the UK, which now contains 600 UK manufacturers, including Jaguar Land Rover, Liberty, Atlas Copco, Moog, Mazak, Portakabin, Siemens, etc.
Including groups in both The Midlands and Yorkshire regions, Made in Group have given their membership the opportunity to support British industry by promoting a new potential career path to an audience of students and young job seekers who may never have considered a career in their particular sub-sector. Laying down the challenge one step further, Made in Group have issued a #1KJobsChallenge - aiming to create 1,000 new jobs through the Made Futures project.
Members of Made in the Midlands and Made in Yorkshire who have opted to exhibit at Made Futures will have a virtual stand, advertising information about their company and what it's truly like to work within that industry. Attendees will also have the opportunity to chat with exhibitors about any potential vanacies, either for now or for in the future.
As part of this large investment, Made in Group have also created their own top of the range Jobs Board, giving UK manufacturing and engineering companies a targeted platform to advertise vacancies and ultimately increase awarenesss regarding career paths with their company.
Ultimately, Made in group aim to promote manufacturing as a career choice and to help people get into work. This groundbreaking event will include keynote speeches from industry leaders, alongside roundtable discussions in which experts will be exploring important topics, such as "Digital Competencies", "Opportunities for Generation X", "The Future of Work in Manufacturing" and "Student & Graduate Employability".
