As part of the Made Futures project, over 250 “Employability Certificates” have been awarded by Made in Group.
In a time of potentially unprecedented competition for roles in the UK job market, the aim is that this certificate will allow for jobseekers to boost their CV and stand out from the crowd.
In order to have qualified for and been sent this certificate, it was required to attend two or more events at the Made Futures Virtual Careers Week - which took place March 22nd-26th. For those who were unable to attend events during this week, it was also allowed to watch the events back on Made in Group’s YouTube channel and then fill out a quiz to confirm that you had watched and engaged with the content.
These personalised certificates feature the respective person’s name, the date of the award being given and also the signature of Lord Whitby or “Mike Whitby”, the politician and former leader of Birmingham City Council.
The Made Futures Virtual Careers Week was an exhibition which took place, allowing for companies in the UK manufacturing industry to promote themselves as employers and advertise job vacancies. Over 1400 delegates signed up to attend this exhibition,
There was a wide variety of events that delegates could attend, including “The Future of Work in Manufacturing”, “Opportunities for Generation X”, “Student & Graduate Employability”, “Digital Competencies Masterclass” and much more.
As of the time of writing, there are also currently over 100 vacancies still available on the Made Futures jobs board - with more being added frequently. Made in Group have created this jobs board to support the UK jobs market through providing one space in which manufacturers can promote their vacancies. Through this platform, jobseekers are able to create an account and upload their CV for seamless applications - alongside being able to browse company profiles and also sign up for “job alerts” for roles which suit their ideal criteria.
