Filtermist Group, the UK’s leading provider of local exhaust ventilation (LEV) extraction systems, has joined well-known brands including Checkatrade, Deloitte, Experian and Hiltie by becoming Great Place to Work-Certified™ following a recent employee survey.
All Absolent Air Care Group companies, including UK based Filtermist International and Filtermist Systems, take part in an annual Great Place to Work survey to measure the perception and experience of their employees. In order to qualify for Great Place to Work Certification, employers must achieve a score of 65% or more in the Trust Index which is based on the Trust Model ©.
The Trust Model © measures employee responses in five key areas:
- Respect
- Credibility
- Fairness
- Camaraderie
- Pride
Jo Morris, Filtermist’s Director of Group Shared Services which incorporates HR, comments, “This is a fabulous achievement, and we are very proud to have been recognised alongside some of the UK’s leading brands. Being a successful business is reliant on having the right workforce who care about our company and want to deliver.
“To encourage this ethos, we have six core competencies which outline how we do business and how we treat each other. Our employees conduct themselves in accordance with these key behaviours and this has fostered a real sense of ‘team’. This has become even more important since we introduced hybrid working. The results of the recent Great Place to Work survey are testimony to the fact that this model is working for us, and we have the right people in the right place, supported by a strong and capable management team.
“We also invest significantly in our workforce in terms of training, both internally and externally, to ensure career progression is available to everyone that wants it, and we strive to maintain a positive, open culture based on candour, trust and respect. We are currently running three development programmes, starting with our Rising Stars and working through to our Senior Leadership Programme. We are very proud of these programmes, and they help ensure consistent and fair management across our business.
“The nature of our products and services means our employees all have a sense of pride in what we do, and this give our roles meaning and a shared sense of purpose. There has always been a real sense of camaraderie at Filtermist - visitors have commented that this is tangible, and this is something that really sets us apart as an employer and is one of the key reasons that we are a ‘Great Place to Work’.
“We have great teams throughout our businesses - our Executive Management Team is extremely proud of the progress all of our people managers have made.
Great Place to Work ® is ‘built on the belief that great employee experiences are better for people, for business and for the world.’ Getting Certified™ is the first step to being named in one of Great Place to Work’s annual Best Workplaces™ lists.
