After I complete my GCSE’s next year, I plan to stay on at my school and enrol onto my A-Levels in Psychology, Business and Art. Although prior to completing my work experience at Direct Air I had ideas of going to university in the future, this enjoyable work experience has also opened some interest to a career in marketing for me.
Before my first day at Direct Air, I felt quite nervous and anxious about what to expect, but straight away I felt welcomed by all the friendly staff who helped me throughout the week. I have met Direct Air staff from all across the company, including Project Engineers, the Service Support team and of course Olivia and Georgia who make up the Marketing department – this is who I have spent the majority of my week working with.
I received a timetable of all the tasks that I would be completing each day, which were quite enjoyable and interesting to do as they were all well explained to me in detail. I learnt about how the business works, how to schedule social media posts and gather business information to input into a spreadsheet as well as creative tasks, such as creating leaflets. This all helped me to improve my confidence, creativity, and IT skills.
From my experience at Direct Air this is a very professionally run family business with a friendly work environment. This week provided me with the opportunity to gain new knowledge and develop different skills, and as a whole, I have thoroughly enjoyed this week of work experience at Direct Air!
