General Assistant

Main tasks of job include (but are not limited to): 

1. You will quality check parts coming from the cutting machines to make sure they are
   1. burr free and 
   2. have all cut correctly.
2. Carefully grind and deburr any parts which do not meet the Company’s quality standards
3. Assist machine operators to make sure the Company’s efficiency targets are met.
4. Assist in the movement of goods and other items around the workshops by operating a counterbalance forklift truck
5. Assist Dispatch with the quality checking and packing of metal components and assemblies.
6. Behave in a manner which meets
   1. the Company’s policies and 
   2. guidelines for health and safety requirements as set out in
      1. your Employment Contract and 
      2. Health and Safety Handbook.
7. Maintain a clean and organised working area, wherever you are working in the workshops.
8. Undertake training where required
9. This list is not exhaustive and you may be expected to perform other tasks during peak times.

Further Details:

• The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic and have a hands-on attitude.
• Previous use of equipment for grinding, drilling, countersinking and tapping will be beneficial to this role but not required.
• Having a valid Counterbalance Fork-Lift Truck licence will give you an advantage but is not required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): 

You will be monitored on the following KPIs:

1. Assessment from Operators and Managers about you following instructions satisfactorily.
2. Your speed and ability to act on instructions without disruption.
3. Feedback from managers on use of initiative
4. Feedback from managers on time management
5. Feedback from all work colleagues on participation in work projects and cooperative working.

Working Hours:

40 Hours per week, Week days with flexible start and finish times. 224 hours of Holiday entitlement (can be booked in single hour blocks) and an additional day off per year of employment.

Salary:

Applicant who has some prior experience with metal: £12.50 ph

Applicant with no experience: £12.00 ph

£100 monthly bonus if company targets are achieved.
